✔️What are your musical influences? What is your musical background?
I grew up in Paris suburb and it had an impact on my early influences, as I grew up listening mostly to reggae and to french hip hop. These were all my first concerts and ‘in-repeat’ albums, with artists like Lunatic, Salif, Steel pulse or Groundation.
My first closer connection to club music was then with the electronica and minimal house scene in Paris with artists like RPR Soundsystem, Cabanne, Bonobo or Traumprinz . Only later around 2015 I discovered the slower and deeper Berlin sound with firstly artists like Mira, Chris, and then Wide awake or Arutani.
Those are few of my influences throughout the years and artists that have inspired me and had a big impact on the music I am doing now.
✔️ What makes good “afterhour”?
After hours can have a very unique energy, some sort of magic in the air, a shared energy of kindness and sensitivity.
At this time, I feel that music becomes an even more important element of the party. People are more open to feel, and to connect deeper with the music.
It can also be an invitation for the DJ to play a more mental and elegant selection, music with more soul and surprises.
✔️ Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set?
This is a set I played at a label showcase with Crépite., a beautiful summer afternoon at a great outdoor location in East Berlin, the gART.n.
When I play in a Crépite. showcase, I tend to select music that also represents well the sound from the label as I feel it is important that our signature sound is represented in those events, and that we are the first ambassador.
This set represents well the brighter side of the Crépite. sound somewhere between elegance, minimalism, deepness and obviously crackling textures 🙂
A lot of my favorite tracks of the last few months.
The set also contains loads of my own field recording samples, which is the direction my DJ sets are taking, an organic hybrid direction with field recordings from nature.
